Northrop Grumman wins $228 million INS contract

Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a five-year, $228 million contract with the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the company said Nov. 5.

The contract, a blanket purchase agreement, calls for Northrop Grumman Information Technology of Herndon, Va., to support the primary IT infrastructure and IT support services for more than 100 INS offices throughout the United States and at several overseas offices.


The agreement was awarded by the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service on behalf of INS. It covers about 40,000 desktops and servers and local area networks supporting more than 1,400 sites.


The size and scope of the agreement's IT solutions makes it one of the company's largest contracts with the federal government, said Jim Perriello, president of government solutions for Northrop Grumman IT.


The company will provide a wide range of IT support services, including hardware maintenance; desktop and server management; asset management; infrastructure deployment; design, planning, installation and certification of the infrastructure cable plant; daily IT security operational support; and IT training. The company also will maintain automatic data processing operations.


The Northrop Grumman contracting team includes Siemens Business Services Inc., Rye Brook, N.Y., and Cexec Inc., Dulles, Va.


Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles has about 96,800 employees and annual sales of $13.5 billion, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
