Maximus hires former Deloitte partner Johnson as COO

David M. Johnson has joined Maximus Inc. as chief operating officer, the company announced Nov. 14.
Johnson, a former partner and managing director with Deloitte Consulting, brings more than 23 years of government consulting experience to his new job.
Before joining Maximus of Reston, Va., Johnson was responsible for the government practice at Deloitte Consulting of New York. His other posts at Deloitte included serving as the managing director for two of the larger offices in North America for Deloitte in Pittsburgh and Toronto.
David Mastran, Maximus' chief executive officer, said that Johnson's leadership skills and background with large consulting firms will assist the company in further developing its growth strategy.
Over the next six months, Johnson will review many of the company's lines of business to identify opportunities for revenue growth and profitability improvement, Mastran said.
Johnson also will focus in the near term on the marketplace, serving clients and helping drive company results, he said.
Maximus provides state and local governments with program management, consulting and information technology services. The company has more than 5,600 employees and annual revenue of $487.3 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
