STG buys Decision Systems Technologies
The value of the deal was not released, but STG acquired DSTI for a combination of cash and seller notes.
STG Inc. has acquired privately held Decision Systems Technologies Inc. of Rockville, Md., the company announced Oct. 3. The value of the deal was not released, but STG acquired DSTI for a combination of cash and seller notes.
"DSTI provides us with great opportunities for rapid expansion in several new business areas," said Simon Lee, president and chief executive officer of STG. "They strategically diversify STG beyond its IT focus by offering scientific and engineering solutions, such as mobile battlefield command centers for the Army. These specialty engineering offerings, coupled with mission-critical homeland security initiatives, will fuel many growth opportunities for STG."
STG worked with Windsor Group LLC, an investment bank in Reston, Va., to carry out the acquisition. DSTI employs more than 400 professionals in the United States, Europe and Korea, with projected revenue in 2002 of $42 million.
This is the third acquisition this year by STG of Fairfax, Va. In April, the company purchased International Computers and Telecommunications Inc., a provider of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems, aviation and airport systems services, and management, operation and business improvement services to federal agencies.
STG acquired PSC Inc., which provides security and electronic engineering, language services, system engineering and technical assistance and enterprise network solutions to the departments of Defense and Justice.
STG was founded in 1986. It has grown to more than 1,700 employees and $170 million in revenue.
