SAIC team gets demonstration phase of Trailblazer

Science Applications International Corp. has been chosen by the National Security Agency to carry out the technology demonstration platform phase of the Trailblazer program, the NSA's modernization of its signals intelligence capabilities.

This phase of Trailblazer is estimated at $280 million over 26 months, the company said Oct. 21.

Joining San Diego-based SAIC on its Digital Network Intelligence Enterprise team are Boeing Co., Chicago; Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va.; Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif.; Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles; and Telcordia Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC.

In March 2001, NSA selected the DNI Enterprise team, consisting of SAIC and Northrop Grumman and led by Booz Allen Hamilton, to participate in the first, concept definition phase of Trailblazer.

For the demonstration phase, SAIC will use its program management, systems and software engineering processes while drawing from the capabilities and resources of its teammates, including the integration and production capabilities of Northrop Grumman.
