Rosettex Group wins Army command, control work
The company was awarded a five-year contract, worth up to $24 million, to develop systems.
Rosettex Technology & Ventures Group has been awarded a five-year contract, worth up to $24 million, to develop systems for military communications, command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance applications for the Army.
Rosettex is a joint business venture between SRI International Inc., Fairfax, Va. and SRI's for-profit subsidiary Sarnoff Corp.
The contract, awarded by the Army Communications-Electronics Command at Fort Monmouth, N.J., will include development of satellite-on-the-move communications, mobile ad-hoc wireless networking and visualization technology for situational awareness.
The work will draw from technologies developed under the Rosettex Venture Fund, a Rosettex-led fund that invests in private companies with technologies that address the government's national security and information technology needs.
"The model provided under this contract allows the Army CECOM to leverage science and technology dollars through the use of venture capital," said Robert Doto, director of the Research Development and Engineering Center at CECOM. "In this way, we can accelerate the development and fielding of information technologies for the warfighter."
