Northrop Grumman wins HHS security work
The task order from the Department of Health and Human Services is to integrate a managed security service from Internet Security Systems Inc. into 12 HHS departments.
Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles, has won a task order from the Department of Health and Human Services to integrate a managed security service from Internet Security Systems Inc., Atlanta, into 12 HHS departments, ISS announced Oct. 29. The one-year task order has four option years.
The first year of the work, involving assessment, will cost approximately $2.2 million, said James Seligman, security program manager for HHS and chief information officer of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an HHS agency. When the requirements are further defined, budgets for the follow-on years will be established.
For this task order, ISS will provide remote monitoring and scheduled vulnerability assessments. Northrop Grumman will provide overall integration capabilities.
"We selected the Northrop Grumman IT and Internet Security Systems solution offering because it provides the best value of managed security services," Seligman said.
