Headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia, the subsidiary plans to expand on the parent company's $450 million in annual public sector sales to $1 billion annually within three to five years, said president and chief operating officer Bill Shafley.
The management team for the company includes some heavy hitters in the government IT reselling community. Shafley is a former vice president of CDW-G and worked for GTSI Corp., Chantilly, Va., as well.
Senior vice president Burl Williams formerly held contracting and executive positions at GTSI and CDW-G, the government unit of CDW Inc., Vernon Hills, Ill.
Vice president of program management Don Tiaga was formerly with CDW-G. Vice president of national sales Tom Simmons was with Compaq Computer Corp.
Micro Warehouse also announced that has been awarded a one-year contract worth up to $4 million with Virginia to furnish computer products and accessories to the public schools, colleges, universities and agencies.
