Manugistics expands government practice
Manugistics Group Inc. announced Sept. 16 it has reorganized and expanded its government practice, forming a new government, aerospace and defense practice.

The Rockville, Md. company's acquisition in May of Western Data Systems, Calabasas, Calif., added capabilities in supply chain management, maintenance, repair and overhaul capilities for the aerospace and defense industry. Manugistics' solutions are designed to link adaptive planning and execution capabilities with real-time visibility into day-to-day operations.
The Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Defense Logistics Agency have used Manugistics' solutions. Commercial customers include defense contractors such as BAE Systems Plc, Farnborough, U.K.; Boeing Co., Chicago; Lockheed Martin Corp., Bethesda, Md.; and Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles.
