DynCorp wins $867 million task order for EPA work

DynCorp of Reston, Va. has been awarded a seven-year, $867 million task order to provide enterprisewide information technology and telecommunications support services to the Environmental Protection Agency, the company announced Sept. 17.



The task order, awarded under the General Services Administration's Millennia contract, consolidates two technical support contracts that supplied EPA offices across the country with integrated IT solutions and telecom services.

The consolidation helps the agency build an IT infrastructure to provide government and citizens with information about environmental and public health conditions, trends and potential threats.



As prime contractor, DynCorp is responsible for overall management, task integration and national telecommunications. The prime subcontractor is IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y., which will provide enterprise server, e-mail, Web and application hosting. IBM officials said the company's portion of the task order is worth $230 million.



Other teammates include PlanetGov Inc., Chantilly, Va., Veridian Corp., Arlington, Va., KPMG Consulting Inc., McLean, Va., and a team of small businesses, not-for-profit organizations and universities.
