CSC chosen for $75 million Space Command task order
Computer Sciences Corp. will provide information technology services to support missile defense and other space-related missions of the Air Force Space Command. The task order, awarded by the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service through its Information Technology Solutions contract, calls for CSC to perform operations and maintenance, help desk and engineering support for enterprise networks supported by the command's directorate of command, control, communications and computers.
Computer Sciences Corp. won a $75 million task order to provide information technology services to support missile defense and other space-related missions of the Air Force Space Command, the company announced Sept. 27.
The task order, which is for one year with four one-year options, was awarded by the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service through its Information Technology Solutions contract.
Under the order, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will provide operations and maintenance, help desk and engineering support for enterprise networks supported by the command's directorate of command, control, communications and computers.
CSC's support will include computer systems engineering, information management and network control center operations for the Air Force Space Command, U.S. Space Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command.
About 35 engineers and technical staff from CSC's defense group are expected to carry out the work in the Colorado Springs, Colo., area. Joining CSC in the effort will be Titan Corp. and Science Applications International Corp., both of San Diego.
CSC reported revenue of $11.5 billion for the 12 months ended June 28. It employs more than 66,000 workers worldwide.
