Unisys Corp. has won a $36 million task order from the General Services Administration to develop a commercial business systems modernization program for the Federal Technology Service. The award was made under the GSA's Millennia contract.
The program, referred to as the FTS 3rd Generation System, or 3GS, will replace home-grown project order and accounting systems with modern commercial applications. This will result in a business system that will help expand the FTS IT Solutions business line and enhance its e-commerce competitiveness.
"3GS is a strategic initiative for FTS and is intended to elevate our ability to deliver value-added services to our government customers," said Sandra Bates, FTS commissioner. She said 3GS will build upon GSA's "strong e-government presence, with such systems as GSA Advantage and FedDesk," by adding the capability for collaborative project acquisition, management and accounting services for FTS customers.
Unisys of Blue Bell, Pa., is teaming with PwC Consulting Inc. of Hamilton, Bermuda; SAP Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of SAP AG of Germany; and TechFlow Inc. of San Diego.
