The General Services Administration has consolidated its e-government offices into a single organization, called the Office of Citizen Services and Communications, and named Casey Coleman as chief technology officer.
Combined into this office are the GSA's Office of Communications, Federal Consumer Information Center, Office of Intergovernmental Solutions and Office of Information Technology, as well as the Office of FirstGov operations from the Office of Governmentwide Policy.
The consolidation, which took effect July 1, is to help the agency become more closely aligned with the president's management agenda to make government more citizen-centered, according to the announcement.
