Science Applications International Corp. has filed a protest with the General Accounting Office over the award of a five-year, $154.4 million Navy contract to Veridian Corp.A spokeswoman for San Diego-based SAIC declined to identify the grounds for the protest.The contract was awarded in early July by the Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. Veridian of Arlington, Va., is to provide scientific, technical, administrative, research, development, test and evaluation services, or STARS. The contract calls for Veridian to support the Navy with a wide range of scientific and technical services involving information technology and network infrastructure relating to the service's development of weapons systems. The GAO decision is due by Oct. 28.
