Perot Systems nets first major federal contract

Wholly owned subsidiary Perot Systems Government Services Inc., formerly ADI Technology Corp,.won a 10-year, $392 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command.

Perot Systems Corp. announced July 16 it has been awarded a 10-year, $392 million comprehensive submarine support contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command.

The award was made to the Plano, Texas, company's wholly owned subsidiary, Perot Systems Government Services Inc., formerly ADI Technology Corp. Perot Systems acquired ADI early in July as part of a strategic move to enter the government services sector.

"Perot Systems' government practice is off to a strong start with a major contract win," said Ross Perot Jr., president and chief executive officer of the company. "This contract with the Navy underscores that we made the right choice in making ADI Technology the cornerstone of our government practice."

As part of the contract, Perot Systems will provide professional program management, engineering, logistics management and financial management in support of in-service submarines for the Navsea Submarine Directorate in Washington. The contract is expected to generate $24 million in revenue for Perot Systems during the first year.

The program encompasses engineering, management and technical services for the operation and maintenance of Trident strategic submarines and attack submarines; submarine depot maintenance; deep submergence programs; logistics and submarine training systems; and support of submarine safety and quality assurance and non-propulsion electronics system fleet integration and certification.
