CSC appoints two new presidents in fed-sector business

Tim Sheahan is president of the new Enforcement, Security and Intelligence Division, and Pat Ways is president of business development for the Federal Sector business unit.

Computer Sciences Corp. named Tim Sheahan as president of the new Enforcement, Security and Intelligence Division, and Pat Ways as president of business development for its Federal Sector business unit, the company announced July 25.

The moves are part of a reorganization that the company said will better position it to meet growing demand for interagency data integration and rapid growth in the U.S. federal market.

The reorganization will consolidate federal business development efforts within CSC and enable to company to better support federal law enforcement, security and intelligence agencies. Sheahan and Ways will report to Paul Cofoni, president of the federal business.

Sheahan will lead all business operations and outsourcing in support of federal law enforcement, public safety and security and all intelligence agencies. The new division will closely align with the proposed new federal Department of Homeland Security, according to CSC.

Sheahan will also continue to serve on the board of directors and as the general manager of the Eagle Alliance, the CSC/Northrop Grumman joint venture executing the Groundbreaker information technology outsourcing program.

Ways will lead all efforts to capture federal business through CSC's newly consolidated Federal Sector Business Development organization, the company said. This unit brings together activities previously conducted separately within the company's Defense and Civil Groups.

"This reorganization best positions CSC to excel in today's government marketplace," Cofoni said. "These executives bring a history of success and experience with the federal government to address the growth we are seeing in this market and the country's renewed focus on national security."

Sheahan has more than 33 years of executive management and technical problem-solving experience in information technology. He has worked at CSC nearly 15 years. He previously spent eight years in the federal government in technical and management positions and 10 years in the Army in operations and management.

Ways has worked more than 39 years in the IT industry, and was most recently senior vice president of business development for CSC's Federal Sector Civil Group.
