ACS wins $9 million Texas outsourcing deal

Affiliated Computer Services won a five-year contract from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for application outsourcing support.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a five-year, $9.1 million contract from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts to provide application outsourcing support, the company announced July 17.

The five-year contract has two one-year options, the Dallas-based company said. Under the contract, ACS will provide application support services for three of the agency's critical payroll and personnel applications: the uniform statewide payroll and personnel system, the human resource information system and the standardized payroll and personnel reporting system.

This is the second contract the comptroller's office has awarded to ACS within the last year, the company said. The initial outsourcing contract includes application support for the uniform statewide accounting system, internal support for the integrated statewide administrative system and support for the property tax system.

ACS began transitioning support of the Texas comptroller's applications in June, and will assume responsibility for the support and enhancement of these systems Sept. 1.
