Under the terms of the new agreement, ACS will continue working with the city and county to improve the quality and level of IT services they offer their citizens and will deploy emerging technologies that enhance local government solutions.

These include IT planning; data center management and operations; network, desktop and server management; annual technology refreshment planning, help-desk services, end-user support, disaster recovery planning and security.
Indianapolis/Marion County, which outsourced its IT services to the private sector in 1995, was one of the first local governments to take that approach, according to ACS.
