Computer Sciences Corp. has named Ben Gianni to serve in the company's new post of vice president for homeland security, the company announced June 6.

Gianni will help CSC of El Segundo, Calif., develop and market new tools and technology-based solutions for homeland security. He will report to Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's federal-sector business unit.

Gianni will oversee CSC experts with backgrounds in anti-terrorism, asymmetric warfare, information and physical security, data management, enterprise integration and networking and communications.

CSC is working to address federal agencies' emerging needs in establishing greater physical access control and in identifying potential threats using tools such as biometrics and cross-enterprise databases, Gianni said.

"These are two areas which are going to be increasingly critical to agencies in carrying out their homeland security missions," he said.
