ACS inks outsourcing deal with Evansville, Ind.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year, $1.3 million contract extension for consolidated outsourcing services from two local governments in the state of Indiana, the company announced June 24.

ACS of Dallas signed amendments to the contract with the Evansville Board of Public Works and the Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners to extend the services from July 1, 2002, through June 30, 2003, the company said.

Under the contract, ACS will continue to provide broad services related to information technology, e-government, software development and support, server hosting and network management for more than 60 government offices within the city of Evansville and Vanderburgh County.

ACS also will provide specific services, such as applications development, desktop and help-desk support, network and project management and consulting.

ACS has similar outsourcing contracts with more than 30 local governments throughout the country. The company has about 35,000 employees and annual revenue of $2 billion.
