Texas taps Lockheed Martin IT for seat management

The company has won a seven-year deal with the Texas Department of Information Resources to provide seat management services throughout the state.

Lockheed Martin Information Technology has won a seven-year deal with the Texas Department of Information Resources to provide seat management services to all agencies, local governments and higher education institutions throughout the state, the company announced May 28.Lockheed Martin Information Technology of Seabrook, Md., expects to provide nearly $200 million in outsourced IT services with state agencies over the life of the contract. The services include installation and maintenance for desktops, laptops, printers and servers as well as help desk and desk side services. To satisfy the needs of its Texas customers, Lockheed Martin will draw on its experience performing similar desktop services contracts with the states of Maryland and North Carolina as well as the NASA Office of Space Flight and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Department of Energy's Hanford Site in Washington state.Lockheed Martin Information Technology is a business unit of Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md.
