CSC wins State contract

Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif., won a five-year, $160 million contract with the Department of State to provide information technology and professional and technical services at locations worldwide.

Computer Sciences Corp., El Segundo, Calif., won a five-year, $160 million contract with the Department of State to provide information technology and professional and technical services at locations worldwide.

The company will provide a variety of computer and telecommunications services in support of the State Department's operating systems and hardware and software applications at more than 280 department locations.

The contract is part of a long-term effort by the agency to improve the IT capabilities supporting U.S. foreign policy activities in more than 150 countries.

If all contract options are exercised, approximately 300 CSC employees will perform the work in Washington and at other locations. In addition, CSC has selected a team of contractors with technical expertise in public key infrastructure, biometrics, enterprise-level telecommunications, records management, secure Web design and secure infrastructure and logistics support.
