Titan nabs $70 million defense training deal

Titan Systems Corp. has won a five-year, $70 million contract from the Department of Defense's National Cryptologic School to support technology-based training and employee development services, the company announced April 16.

Under the contract, Titan Systems of San Diego will provide a team of trained professionals to respond to tasks such as design, development and implementation of technology-based training and employee development services.

The training encompasses computer and Web-based training, instructor-led training, performance support systems, modeling and simulation and system and software design.

The contract also includes system and software engineering and integration throughout the school.

Titan provides a wide range of cryptologic training and other information technology services to the Defense Department. Cryptology is the process of communicating in secret writings or ciphers or the skill employed in deciphering such communications.

The training and technology that Titan will provide to the school will help protect the United States from external threats, including international terrorism, according to the company.
