Seven companies have been selected for next generation engineering services for the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Department of Defense announced April 22.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract vehicle will have a seven-year life and has an overall ceiling of $1 billion.

The winning companies are Artel Inc., Reston, Va.; Femme Comp Inc., Sterling, Va.; FGM Inc., Dulles, Va.; Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles; Pragmatics Inc., McLean, Va.; Science Applications International Corp., San Diego; and Systems Research and Applications Corp., Fairfax, Va. Each awardee is guaranteed a minimum of $100,000.

Under these "NexGen" contracts, companies will compete for task orders to perform engineering services for the Defense Information Systems Agency and other Department of Defense and federal agencies.

"This NexGen contract lays the foundation for a new partnership with DISA and expands FGM's role significantly," said Scott Gessay, president and chief executive officer of FGM, a government-focused software and systems engineering company.
