Anteon International Corp. has been awarded $15.8 million by the Royal Danish Navy to build minesweeper systems.
Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va., has been awarded $15.8 million by the Royal Danish Navy to build minesweeper systems, the company announced April 25.
Under this contract, administered by the Navy's Danish Material Command, Anteon will modify its design of the A/N37U-1 system it originally developed for the U.S. Navy. The systems will be used in the Royal Danish Navy's 28-meter remote controlled surface craft to help clear ocean mines.
Anteon delivered 50 of these systems to the U.S. Navy and will be provide 10 systems to the Royal Danish Navy over a four-year period.
"Our A/N37U-1 is a proven system as evidenced by its performance in U.S. Navy operations, and we are confident that the Royal Danish Navy will experience similar success in upgrading its minesweeping capabilities," said Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer of Anteon.
