CACI International Inc. has won a five-year, $31.5 million contract with the U.S. Customs Service to provide enterprisewide information assurance, the company announced April 18.

The contract was awarded through the General Services Administration Program Safeguard contracting vehicle, the company said.

CACI will assist the Customs Service in integrating security solutions throughout the agency to ensure all systems and programs meet federal requirements for information assurance.

Specifically, CACI will help Customs formulate information assurance plans and policies, develop and deliver comprehensive training and education, establish a security architecture and maintain operations such as computer-incident response capabilities and protect against hackers and related cyberthreats, the company said.

The contract will add to the existing work CACI performs for the Customs Service and will expand its information assurance line of business, which is one of the company's targeted growth areas, said company officials.

The more than 20,000 employees of the Customs Service are responsible for enforcing federal policy on the flow of goods across U.S. borders.
