CSC lands $285 million EPA project
Computer Sciences Corp. won a task order to help the Environmental Protection Agency in implementing and operating a central data exchange.
Computer Sciences Corp. won a task order worth up to $285 million over seven years to assist the Environmental Protection Agency in implementing and operating a central data exchange.
The award was made by the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center under the Federal Technology Service's Millennia contract. The exchange will serve as an enterprisewide portal for filing required environmental reports by federal, state and local government agencies, tribal communities and industry.
In addition to developing the system, CSC, El Segundo, Calif., will operate and maintain the exchange. Approximately 140 CSC employees will work on the contract in New Carrollton, Md.
CSC's teammates include Concurrent Technologies Corp. of Johnstown, Pa.; Creative Information Technology Inc. of Arlington, Va.; Digital Signature Trust Co. of Salt Lake City; Grant Thornton LLP of Chicago; InfoPro Inc. of Silver Spring, Md.; Lexign Inc. of Nashua, N.H.; SeeBeyond Technology Corp. of Monrovia, Calif.; and Systems Integration Group Inc. of Lanham, Md.
"The CDX is a major step in realizing the EPA's vision of integrating environmental information from the public and private sectors," said Dale Luddeke, CSC's vice president of resource and environmental services. "CSC is committed to this e-government initiative, and we are combining the best of commercial exchange development, operations management and customer outreach expertise to support the EPA."
