Qwest Cyber Solutions and Loudcloud Inc. have been tapped by Freddie Mac to run its Home Value Suite of Web-based products, the companies announced March 18.

The products are supposed to speed the home-buying process. The contract's value and length were not released.

Freddie Mac, McLean, Va., is a publicly traded mortgage financier established by Congress in 1970 to support home ownership and rental housing. The company is outsourcing its Web site operations management to Loudcloud of Sunnyvale, Calif., and the system will be run out of Qwest's network of CyberCenter facilities.

"Our goal is to bring to the market innovative mortgage products that use technology to simplify the mortgage process," said Bud Sottili, director of strategic information services for Freddie Mac. "Loudcloud's automated managed services help us do that, and also give us a technically superior architecture that supports our open standards applications. Qwest provides a solid, reliable network to grow the application."

Qwest Cyber Solutions, a division of Qwest Communications International Inc., Denver, and Loudcloud began a relationship in August 2001 in which they agreed to jointly deliver an end-to-end, managed application hosting solution.
