Hansen wins Fresno, Calif., public works contract

Hansen Information Technologies Inc. has won a $240,000 contract from Fresno, Calif., for electronic solutions for the city's public works and public utilities departments, the company announced March 14.

Under the contract, Hansen of Sacramento, Calif., will provide software licensing, project management, data conversion, interface development and training. The new system will be fully implemented in about nine months, Hansen said.

The contract will allow the city's public works and utilities departments to improve tracking capabilities and provide quality services in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner, while streamlining business processes and decision support, according to Hansen.

The modules that Hansen will provide to the city are roadway, water, sewer, plant and customer service.

Fresno will replace a legacy record keeping system with the Hansen public works solution, making it easier to generate work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, perform field inspections to safeguard assets, plan and schedule work activities and provide activity-based cost information.

The system will integrate with the city's accounting system, which is provided by PeopleSoft Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif., as well as its geographic information system database that displays various components of infrastructure assets for water and sewer.

Hansen provides citizen call-center solutions for state and local governments as well as asset management, building permit, code enforcement, public works, transportation and utility building solutions. The privately held company has about 210 employees.
