AMS Systems nets big Maryland hardware deal
AMS Systems Inc. will supply Maryland with microcomputer hardware and associated peripherals.
AMS Systems Inc., Burtonsville, Md., has won a contract to supply the state of Maryland with microcomputer hardware and associated peripherals, the company announced March 11.
The one-year contract with two one-year options is worth an estimated $50 million, the company said.
Under the contract, AMS Systems will supply products to more than 100 state agencies, 20 counties and the Maryland Department of Education's Technology in Maryland Schools program. The company also will provide installation and set-up services.
AMS Systems will provide computers from Dell Computer Corp. of Round Rock, Texas; printers from IBM Corp. of Armonk, N.Y.; and various off-the-shelf software.
AMS Systems is the operating company for Insiderstreet.com, also of Burtonsville, a company formerly engaged in the business of providing and distributing specialized financial information via the Internet.
The company, which has about 30 employees, specializes in the sales and distribution of a broad range of computer hardware and software products and provides related support services to government, business and education customers.
