Sprint offers federal discount on bundled videoconferencing

Sprint Communications Corp. has put together a bundled offering of videoconferencing hardware and high-speed transport, combining elements of its General Services Administration schedule and its FTS2001 long distance services contract.

In this promotion, Sprint is offering a 40 percent discount on the purchase of some videoconferencing equipment when combined with IP transport and Internet access. The offer will last through April 30 and applies to new and existing federal customers.

"Videoconferencing applications can literally put a face on e-government initiatives," said Tony D'Agata, vice president and general manager of Sprint's government systems division. "Our promotion for federal agencies will make videoconferencing a mainstay of agency operations and foster an e-government environment. Applications like work group collaboration, distance learning, tele-working and telemedicine are dramatically simplified by advanced videoconferencing products and complementary high-speed networks."

D'Agata said over the course of the year, Sprint will be rolling out other bundled solutions for federal customers, each at a discount, he said.
