Maximus to fulfill ERP for Wayne County, Mich.

Maximus Corp. has won a $6.6 million contract from Wayne County/Detroit, Mich., to provide services to replace the county's legacy human resources and payroll system. The one-year contract contains four one-year renewal options.
Maximus of Reston, Va., will provide software, hardware, training and implementation services to the county as it replaces its legacy system with enterprise resource planning software from PeopleSoft of Pleasanton, Calif., the company announced Jan. 28. Wayne County will be using PeopleSoft Version 8 HRMS suite.
The contract contains an option for the county to use Maximus data center to support the production system.
The new Web-based system is expected to reduce system maintenance and support that was required under the legacy system, said David Mastran, Maximus' chief executive officer.
Maximus provides state and local government with program management, information technology and consulting services. The company has more than 4,800 employees and annual revenue of $487.3 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
