The California Department of Health Services is looking to outsource its Medicaid Management Information Systems. The request for proposals is expected March 25, with proposals due May 24. The contract could be worth $100 million annually and is likely for five years with three one-year options.
Alaska Department of Health and Social Services wants a statewide, automated child welfare information system. The RFP is expected in April. The contract could be worth $10 million. The new system will improve case management, simplify referral and access to services, facilitate connectivity with other agencies and enhance management of resources.The Oregon Information Resources Management Division wants an e-procurement system to replace an existing legacy system. The new system should be Web-based and provide bidding and contracting information. Officials estimate the system will cost $2.2 million. The RFP is expected in the second quarter of 2002.The Texas Health and Human Services Commission plans to issue a solicitation for claims administration services for the Texas Medicaid Management Information System and other related management services. The RFP is expected in April or May. Proposals will be due in September.The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services wants to replace a computer system used in state hospitals. The procurement includes hardware and software for a standalone, in-house system. A solicitation for several hospitals is expected in late February or early March. The estimated value for one hospital is $600,000.
