Lalley leaps to private sector

Frank Lalley, the assistant commissioner for service delivery at the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service, has been named president and chief executive officer of Computer Equity Corp. (Compec) of Chantilly, Va., bringing to a close his 35 years of government service.Compec is a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions Inc. of West Palm Beach, Fla., which provides business-to-business e-commerce and e-business solutions and computer telephony Internet integration. According to Tom Cuneo, vice president of sales and marketing for GTI, Lalley will run the day-to-day operations of Government Telecommunications Inc., a subsidiary of Compec, which provides voice, data and networking solutions to government and commercial customers.Lalley was honored in October by President Bush with the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive.
