General Dynamics starts dedicated unit for tank contract
General Dynamics Corp. has formed a new unit, called Eagle Enterprise Inc., under its combat systems group to compete for the U.S. Army's $10 billion Future Combat Systems unmanned tank contract.
General Dynamics Corp. has formed a new unit, called Eagle Enterprise Inc., under its combat systems group to compete for the U.S. Army's $10 billion Future Combat Systems unmanned tank contract, the company announced Jan. 21.
Eagle Enterprise will be headquartered in Washington.
On Jan. 14, General Dynamics of Falls Church, Va., announced its team to compete on this contract, which consists of Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles; Raytheon Co., Lexington, Mass.; United Defense Industries Inc., Arlington, Va.; and ITT Industries Inc., White Plains, N.Y.
"To meet the challenge of the Future Combat Systems program, we're bringing our best resources together and putting them to work in a completely cooperative environment," said Arthur J. Veitch, General Dynamics senior vice president-Combat Systems group.
Michael Bolon was named president of Eagle Enterprise.
