American Management Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va., strengthened its partnership with middleware provider WebMethods Inc., also of Fairfax.
The agreement will allow AMS to incorporate WebMethods' integration software into a number of its government-related financial management application suites. The software will allow AMS' packages to interact more closely with legacy systems, making for better tracking of the acquisition processes and closer ties with financial management, logistics, transportation and resource management.
The agreement also builds on a previous relationship between the companies, in which AMS used WebMethods' products for government solutions as well for customers in the markets for energy, telecommunications and financial services, said WebMethods public relations manager Ivy Eckerman.
As part of the agreement, WebMethods will train AMS integration consultants on how to use the software, and the two companies will do some joint sales, marketing and technical development efforts.
