SBA Launches Legal Site
The Small Business Administration launched a new Web site to help small businesses comply with laws and regulations.
The Small Business Administration Dec. 5 launched a new Web site to help small businesses comply with laws and regulations.
The site, www.BusinessLaw.gov, covers topics such as choosing a business structure, hiring a lawyer, developing electronic commerce and handling exports, SBA officials said.
"Our goal is to provide knowledge of basic legal issues so that businesses can identify potential problems early and take preventative action," SBA said.
The agency's offices of General Counsel, Field Operations and the CIO will manage the site, a pilot effort by SBA's Office of the National Ombudsman.
The Internal Revenue Service and organizations such as Service Corps of Retired Executives and Small Business Development Centers, whose members plan to use the site to advise clients, also helped develop the site.
