SAIC Wins Navy Engineering Contract

Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego won a $174 million contract with the Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center to provide engineering services to three of its units, the company announced Dec. 6.

Under the five-year contract, SAIC will work for the Communication Network Fleet Engineering Systems Division; the Submarine Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence (C4I) Systems Branch; and the Information Systems Management Branch.

SAIC will help the Navy deploy and operate the next generation of data and voice communications networks, said Bryan Bebb, SAIC group senior vice president.

Making the networks secure, reliable and easy to maintain and use is crucial to the Fleet's mission, he said.

The SAIC team will provide services including program management, engineering, technical support, integrated logistics support and non-integrated installation support for afloat and ashore Navy C4I systems.

Support across these areas will be provided for legacy systems as well as new technologies, and spans the full spectrum of Navy C4I. Representative systems and technologies include radio frequency voice and data communications, tactical data links, network design and management, interior communications and Internet application development and support.

The SAIC team includes four large businesses and 12 small businesses.
