Anteon Wins $20M Sub Modernization Deal
The Navy picked Anteon Corp. to provide program and financial management support to its submarine modernization program.
Anteon Corp. of Fairfax Va., was picked by the Navy to provide program and financial management support to its submarine modernization program, Anteon announced Dec. 17.
Anteon received a five-year, multiple-award contract valued at approximately $20.8 million.
The task order is for the Naval Sea Systems Command, and will assist "Team Submarine," a Navy initiative to better tie in submarine technology research and development with the submarine purchasing, maintenance and upgrading processes.
Team Submarine includes the Navy Program Executive Office for Submarines, the Naval Sea Systems Command's submarine and undersea technology directorates, as well as numerous shipyards and university laboratories.
According to Charlie Grabenstein, Anteon's Sea Systems Department manager, the company will provide program services, such as creating speeches, presentations, testimonies and other public affairs duties, as well as financial management support, such as creating budget reports and helping the Navy achieve a paperless office.
Previously, Anteon has completed many of these duties for Team Submarine under the General Services Administration schedule. This contract represents an expansion of duties, Grabenstein said.
Anteon's Systems Engineering Group will perform the work.
