LexisNexis Group to Acquire CourtLink
LexisNexis has signed a definitive agreement to acquire CourtLink Corp.,which specializes in electronic filing of legal documents and electronic access to court records.
LexisNexis Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire CourtLink Corp., a company that specializes in electronic filing of legal documents and electronic access to court records.
Terms of the deal, which is subject to approval by CourtLink shareholders, were not made public in the Oct. 31 announcement.
CourtLink of Bellevue, Wash., will keep its headquarters location and operate as a separate business unit of LexisNexis of Miamisburg, Ohio.
Ann Fullenkamp, LexisNexis senior vice president of emerging markets, will become chief operating officer of CourtLink when the acquisition is finalized.
Henry Givray, chairman, president and chief executive officer of CourtLink, said that although he was asked to stay on with the company, he will leave to pursue other CEO opportunities next year.
CourtLink's e-filing service enables legal professionals to electronically file, serve and process legal documents and maintain electronic court files. Its electronic access services enable users to search and retrieve case information from federal, state and local court systems through a single online source.
CourtLink has 160 employees. LexisNexis has about 12,000 employees and annual revenue of $1.7 billion.
