TekInsight Acquires Exodus' Louisiana Contracts

TekInsight.com Inc. is acquiring Exodus Communications Inc.'s professional services business in the state of Louisiana, including more than a dozen state agency contracts and several additional education-related and municipal contracts.

TekInsight of Irvine, Calif., did not disclose the value of the acquisition in the Oct. 2 announcement. The terms of the agreement are subject to bankruptcy court approval, TekInsight said.

The company will extend job offers to 60 former Exodus employees, TekInsight spokeswoman Linda Wise said.

The state contracts include the departments of health and hospitals, labor, revenue and social services, Wise said.

The acquisition will help TekInsight expand its national technology support center located in Baton Rouge, La., said TekInsight President Steve Ross.

Exodus announced in September that it had filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The filing was done to allow the company to continue operating while it develops a reorganization plan that will provide a suitable capital structure for long-term growth, Exodus said.

TekInsight is a provider of government transformation services, including consulting, infrastructure planning and deployment, application development and legacy integration and support.

Exodus of Santa Clara, Calif., is a Web hosting firm and Internet operations outsourcing company.
