Northrop Grumman Wins $650 Million VA InfoTech Contract

Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles, has won a contract worth up to $650 million to provide information technology products and services to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the company announced Oct. 17.

The Austin Automation Center Enterprise System contract calls for technical and professional services, hardware and software products to the department's Austin, Texas-based automation center.

The Austin Automation Center, a fee-for-service enterprise, provides data for financial management, payroll, human resources, logistics, medical records, eligibility benefits and supply functions for the Veterans Affairs and other government agencies, including the General Accounting Office, the National Archives and Records Administration, NASA and the Federal Highway Administration of the Department of Transportation.

Team members for the contract include EMC Corp., Hopkinton, Mass.; KPMG LLP, New York; SAIC, San Diego; and Sun Microsystems Inc., Palo Alto, Calif.

Northrop Grumman will provide on-site support personnel as well as equipment replacement and maintenance.
