CSC Wins GSA Task Orders Worth $63 Million
Computer Sciences Corp. has won four task orders from the General Services Administration under a blanket purchase agreement to provide distributed computing services throughout the agency's Federal Supply Service.
Computer Sciences Corp. of El Segundo, Calif., has won four task orders from the General Services Administration under a blanket purchase agreement to provide distributed computing services throughout the agency's Federal Supply Service, the company announced Oct. 23.
The task orders are collectively worth $63 million if all options are exercised over a 10-year period.
Under the task orders, systems integrator CSC will provide technical support in client services, local area network services, voice and data services and help-desk services. The company will deploy new systems and operate, maintain and enhance GSA's existing distributed computing services.
CSC will employ commercial best practices and procedures in its work, said Elaine Dauphin, vice president of GSA programs at CSC.
Approximately 60 distributed computing specialists from CSC's Civil Group will work at the Federal Supply Service headquarters in Arlington, Va. Teaming with CSC are Dell Computer Corp. of Round Rock, Texas, which will provide product expertise, and Database Connection of Phoenix, Md., which will offer specialized support.
GSA houses federal workers and provides products and services to support the work of the government. The agency has negotiated contracts that account for $40 billion of goods and services bought annually from the private sector.
