Computer Sciences Corp. of El Segundo, Calif., announced Oct. 3 that it won a task order from the Federal Systems Integration and Management Center to support the U.S. Department of State's Diplomatic Telecommunications Services Program Office. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity task order is valued at $107.5 million if all options are exercised during its eight-year life.

The task order is the first of this size awarded by the General Services Administration in support of the State Department, CSC said. CSC and its team members will provide engineering, training, financial management, network management, help desk and logistics support. About 100 engineers and computer, financial, training and logistics experts from CSC will perform the work in northern Virginia.

The task order was awarded under the GSA Federal Technology Service's Millennia contract, a multiple-award, task order contract offering information technology services to federal agencies.

The Diplomatic Telecommunications Service Program Office implements and manages a global network that provides reliable and cost-effective telecommunications services to the U.S. foreign affairs community.

The task order will support DTS in strengthening the lines of communication between the United States and its diplomatic corps through an up-to-date, responsive and secure global network, said Bob Kennedy, vice president of government enterprise services at CSC.
