Find opportunities — and win them.

Citing airline shutdowns and travel restrictions, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers has canceled its annual conference, scheduled for Sept. 16-19 in New Orleans.

Citing airline shutdowns and travel restrictions, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers has canceled its annual conference, scheduled for Sept. 16-19 in New Orleans.

Many of the association's key members and corporate partners would not have been able to participate because of the uncertainty of travel arrangements or restrictions on travel implemented by their organizations, said NASCIO Executive Director Elizabeth Miller.

"It has been a difficult decision, but we realize that our efforts are needed at home at this time," she said.

NASCIO leadership and staff are working to determine possible dates or formats to reschedule the meeting, but are not able to say what alternatives might be available, Miller said.

Next year, NASCIO will hold its midyear meeting in Denver from April 7-9, and its annual meeting in St. Louis from Oct. 27-30.

Miller urged attendees to cancel their reservations promptly by calling the Hyatt Regency New Orleans at Louisiana Superdome at (504) 561-1234. To contact NASCIO, call (859) 514-9160.
