Titan Unit Racks Up Naval Air Deal

Titan Corp. of San Diego announced Aug. 10 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Titan Systems Corp., won a Naval Air Systems Command contract potentially worth $83 million over five years.


Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, the Titan unit will provide services to the Systems Engineering Competency within Naval Air Systems Command headquarters. The command is responsible for the acquisition, engineering, design and support of Navy aircraft, advanced weapons and related equipment.


The contract has one base year and four one-year options. Services will be performed primarily at the company's facilities in Lexington Park, Md.


Titan Systems will provide systems engineering support for aircraft systems integration and subsystem integration, avionics technology insertion, software technology insertion, vehicle technology insertion, survivability and vulnerability engineering, night vision devices and systems, cockpit displays technology, reconnaissance and surveillance systems, multisensor integration, engagement and rehearsal aids and network centric warfare.


Major Navy and Marine Corps aircraft programs supported under the contract include the Joint Strike Fighter, F-14, Tactical Tomahawk, aerial targets, C-130, Joint Tactical Combat Training System, common avionics, tactical surveillance programs, aircraft weapons and joint programs.


Titan Systems provides technology solutions, services and products primarily to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. The company has annual revenue of about $860 million and a backlog worth more than $2 billion.
