Texas Comptroller Taps ACS for Support

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $6.1 million contract with the Texas Comptroller's Office for application and support services.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $6.1 million contract with the Texas Comptroller's Office for application and support services for legacy systems, the Dallas company said Aug. 14.

The three-year contract has five one-year options and might be worth $16 million if all of the options are exercised, ACS said.

ACS will provide applications and support for the comptroller's uniform statewide accounting system, its financial software and a portion of its property tax appraisal system.

The Texas Comptroller's Office uses financial software is provided by PeopleSoft Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif.

The company will begin transition immediately and assume full responsibility for the support and enhancement of the systems Sept. 1.

ACS has about 22,000 employees worldwide and had sales of $2 billion in fiscal 2001, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
