Government electronic payments company govOne Solutions LP will acquire the assets of Taxware International Inc. for $32 million in cash, the company announced Aug. 1. Taxware's owners also will receive minority ownership in govOne Solutions of Englewood, Colo.
The acquisition of Taxware of Salem, Mass., a provider of commercial tax compliance systems, will help govOne Solutions expand the scope of electronic payment services that it offers to government and commercial clients.
The 150 employees of Taxware, will become employees of govOne solutions, govOne said. The deal is expected to close in 30 days.
Currently, govOne has contracts with 23 states and 55 financial institutions, said company officials.
Among govOne's strategic partners are American Management Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va.; IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y.; and KPMG Consulting Inc., McLean, Va., govOne said.
The company is a subsidiary of eOne Global of Napa, Calif., which is owned by First Data Corp. of Atlanta.
