CACI to Buy Digital Systems International

CACI International Inc. has signed a letter of intent to purchase Digital Systems International Corp., the company announced Aug. 13.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but privately held Digital Systems International had revenue of $55 million over the past 12 months.


CACI, based in Arlington, Va., said the acquisition will be financed through the company's existing credit facilities and is expected to be complete within 90 days.


Digital Systems International, also of Arlington, implements enterprise resource planning systems, including large-scale financial and human resource systems and e-procurement applications.

The firm also operates a large-scale enterprise networking and information assurance practice, addresses complex business problems with a process modeling and simulation methodology and provides acquisition and program management consulting services, primarily for the federal government. It employs about 550 people in several states.


CACI has acquired 17 companies in the past seven years. The company is projecting revenue in fiscal 2002 of between $630 million and $660 million. Company Chief Executive Officer and Chairman John "Jack" London has said CACI will reach the $1 billion mark by 2005.


Digital Systems International's capabilities "will enhance CACI's solutions and offerings and broaden our customer base, particularly within our systems integration and managed network services lines of business," London said.
