The state released a request for information to solicit how to convert about 560 hard-copy forms to electronic forms. The forms must be accessible by the local district social services offices via Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance intranet/Internet giving them print-on-demand capability.
The Pennsylvania Department of State will release a request for proposal for a voter registration system. The RFP is expected in the third quarter of 2001.
The recent passage of Act 61 of 2001 amends the Pennsylvania Voter Registration Act and authorizes the Department of State to develop and implement a statewide uniform registry of electors. Among other amendments, Act 61 of 2001 requires the secretary of the commonwealth to form an advisory board to assist the Department of State in identifying the necessary elements and requirements for the registry. The act also charges the secretary with issuing a report to the General Assembly on or before Oct. 15, regarding the department's determination of the necessary elements and requirement of the system.
The Colorado Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Business Group, is undertaking a project to implement the provisions of recent legislation that allows motor vehicle titles issued in the state to be maintained electronically and requires the department to maintain a central registry of the electronic files. This procurement is expected in the fourth quarter of 2001.
Electronic titling is intended to provide efficient registration and titling services for vehicle purchasers and certain vehicle fleets. The department wants to further enhance the titling process by authorizing certain related businesses to perform registration, titling and tax collection. In addition to expanding the network of registration agents, the system should expedite the deposit of registration fees and taxes.
