Informatica Inc., a maker of data analysis tools, formed a federal unit to pull together government work held by the Palo Alto, Calif., company. Informatica counts the Navy, Army, Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development as customers.
The federal unit is expected to eventually generate 15 percent of Informatica's revenue, company officials said. The company reported revenue of $101.2 million for the six months ending June 30, compared to $59.8 million in the same period in 2000. The federal unit will be based in McLean, Va.
